Who We Are

Expert Consulting Across Pakistan's Development Landscape

Pillar and Path Consulting is an Islamabad-based development consultancy registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan. Our associate network includes PhD-level specialists in water chemistry, irrigation engineering, environmental and social safeguards, gender economics, climate-smart agriculture, and GIS and remote sensing. We use the field tools our sector demands — KoboToolbox, mWater, SurveyCTO, ArcGIS, and CAPI platforms tested in post-flood Sindh, highland Pakistan, and Central Asian field conditions.

Compliance on Paper, Delivery in the Field

The Islamic Development Bank, AIIB, GCF-anchored funds and Germany's development banks are all moving into Pakistan with serious gender, safeguards and monitoring commitments. The documents are rarely the problem. The problem is what happens when a Gender Action Plan drafted in Islamabad has to survive contact with a specific tehsil in Sibi — or an irrigation scheme in the northern areas. more →

GESI and Safeguards: What Field Delivery Actually Looks Like

We write Gender Action Plans that survive contact with the field — indicators a provincial team can actually collect, targets that reflect what women in a given district can realistically participate in, monitoring that catches problems before a mid-term review does. Our GESI and environmental safeguards work draws on GEF-8 and SECAP-aligned standards, and on current engagement in Balochistan's Sibi and Kachhi districts under UNDP-GEF. more →

What Sets Us Apart

What Pillar and Path Brings to an Assignment

Genuine Technical Depth

Our associate network brings PhD-level expertise across water chemistry, irrigation engineering, environmental and social safeguards, gender labour economics, and remote sensing. When we name a technical area, we can name the person, the institution, and the qualification behind it — not a generic claim to broad competence.

Field Tools That Work in Pakistan

We use KoboToolbox, mWater, SurveyCTO, ArcGIS and satellite-based crop mapping — tested in post-flood Sindh, highland Pakistan and Central Asian field conditions. We know which tools fail in low-connectivity environments and which hold up when a field supervisor cannot be physically present.

Local Knowledge, International Standards

Our team has operated across all four provinces of Pakistan, AJK, and Central Asia. We understand Pakistan's provincial governance structures, agro-ecological zones, and institutional landscape in a way that generalist international firms — parachuted in for individual procurements — cannot replicate.
